Good morning! This isn't my typical kind of post, but I hope it will be useful to you in choosing the right diet for your beloved pooch.
Recently, I was wondering if my Mandy needed a grain-free diet. She's been licking herself a lot, and her hair is discolored on her belly, where she's been licking. I decided to try it. Next batch of food, I left out the rice and put in sweet potatoes instead. Not only did this not seem to solve the licking, she also started into a bout of diarrhea. I wondered if she was missing the rice in her food, so tried adding that into a meal. Diarrhea stopped. Tried the grain free again, diarrhea returned. Added in again, diarrhea stopped. I came to the conclusion that grain free is not right for Mandy. Remember, all dogs are different. There is no "one size fits all" dog food, and you have to experiment to find what works best. Talk to your vet, make small batches of food, and watch your pets reactions. Always remember, when choosing ingredients, not all vegetables and fruits are safe for dogs. Always be sure before you buy. I hope this post has been useful to you! Thanks for stopping by!
