It's been a while since I've made a new post, but here's today's batch of food for Mandy. She approves of it!
Lately, to make life easier (and also less expensive), I've been buying bags of frozen vegetables for Mandy's food. She doesn't mind, and cooking is a lot simpler. The ingredients in this batch are: 4 Lbs. Ground Hamburger Approx. 1/2 bag frozen crinkle cut carrots Approx. 1/2 bag frozen butternut squash 1 (One) 8 OZ box of frozen spinach 2 cups uncooked instant white rice cooked in 2 cups water Seasonings: Garlic powder Oregano Basil You don't have to put a lot of the seasonings in...just enough to give it some flavor, and a wonderful aroma. I needed to go to town today, so instead of doing it my usual method, in a pot on the stove top, I lined a pan with foil, chopped up the raw hamburger and mixed in the vegetables, added a little water and the spices, and covered completely with foil. Into the oven @275 F for about 2 and a half to 3 hours...Believe me, the house smelled heavenly when I came home! Mix in the cooked rice, allow to cool. Your dog will be impatient to eat! Thanks for stopping by! Happy cooking! Dorothy and Mandy
