I know I haven't been posting a lot lately, but I couldn't let today end without posting about Mandy's birthday celebration. She turned 16, today! I baked her a cake, "Peanut Butter Delight." I even stole a piece for myself, and it wasn't bad...the icing was "different," but the cake was actually pretty good; so if you want to try the recipe, here's the link to where I got it: http://www.momsandmunchkins.ca/2015/08/18/puppy-cake-recipe/ I also made some "Sweet Potato Pretzel Dog Treats" (Recipe here: http://www.browneyedbaker.com/sweet-potato-pretzel-dog-treats-happy-6th-birthday-einstein/ On top of this, she got some Three Dog Bakery cookies and a kong-type toy. So, to end the day, here are some pictures. I tried to light the candles, but it was a little breezy and they wouldn't stay lit, so we just had to imagine they were lit. Mandy tried to eat the candles after I took them out of the cake! I couldn't get a picture of her cake slice before she got it in her mouth...the whole piece at once! So, that was Mandy's "simple" solitary birthday party. If we knew of any dogs that would definitely get along, she would've had guests, but maybe she liked it better this way. It makes it a little more intimate than bringing in outsiders. She's my precious little "baby," even if she is Sweet Sixteen!
